Hindaun is a Historical-Legendary City & Municipal Council in Hindaun Block, Karauli district of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. The town is located in the vicinity of the Aravalli Range & Vindhya Range and is on the main railway track between Delhi and Mumbai. It is a subdivisional headquarter. Its population is approximately 1.35 lakh. The town covers an area of 57 Square kilometres ( sq mi). Temperature in summer ranges between 25 and 45 degrees Celsius and in winter it is between 5 and 23 degrees Celsius. It has an average elevation of 235 meters (771 ft).Distance to State capital Jaipur is around 150 km

The Varadari Devi Fort
There is definite proof in Hindaun that in the time of Rana Sanga and ruler of Ranthambore, Hameer was also the capital of a king. There was a fort here also known as Garh . There was a kachehri in it, a palace, surrounded by a high wall of mud and a deep ditch around it. Everything was over and now Mohan Nagar settled in place of the fort. The Kachehri still exists.
